Published in 1957, “Atlas Shrugged,” considered her magnum opus, is more popular today than when it was published. I read it in 1964 when I was 17, along with her other popular work, “The Fountainhead.” Both books had a profound effect on me, although I currently have mixed feelings about her philosophy she calls “objectivism” (explained in her own words on my portrait of her). I love this. Such a great depiction of the lady. Atlas Shrugged was one of my favorite books although her philosophy can be cringeworthy. Your depiction, however, is terrific. Brava!
Jayne Somogy replied:
Thank you so much, Ellin. This one was great fun; not exactly sure how it developed--it just sort of happened as I drew and I knew what it should look like!
