Description
This is No. 1 in my series, "Hungarian Rhapsody"--a whimsical nod to my own Hungarian roots expressed as musical works. Hungarians are famous for their beautiful colorful embroideries using flower themes and bright colors, lots of red and black. Our "squeaky" eyes (my term for my own & this baby's narrow, slanted eyes) no doubt come from a Mongol invasion in the 13th century.

Jayne Very nice work , My grandparents came from small town by Budapest Hungary.

Thank you so much, Jeffrey. I was surprised to learn (awhile back) that "Somogyi" is a common name in Hungary, and there's even a county by that name! My father's parents came over from Hungary sometime in the beginning of the 20th century, with about 6 of his older siblings, but I don't know from what area.
