This is a portrait of a very handsome Maasai warrior, in the 1980s. The Maasai are a nomadic tribe from Kenya, Africa whose livelihood comes from their livestock consisting mostly of cows.
This drawing, along with a number of others of mine, is included in Shan Peck's latest (Jan. 2021) book, "AFRICA" (which I also edited), along with art from artists around the world. Available from Amazon.
I create whimsical, graphic, stylized, often Asian-inspired & sometimes jeweled or embellished interpretations of people, animals, ethnic subjects, objects/still lifes.
