This is one of my fashion designs (from the early 1980's) set against a background of the Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles, California. Acrylics with star-shaped Swarovski AB crystals, faceted gold beads, gold leaf paint, and chiffon fabric with sequin dots. Fabric has serged edges and has been sewn onto the canvas at the shoulder and along the arm with gold beads and is free-flowing. Beads and crystals are also sewn onto the canvas. No frame necessary, sides are painted. The stars in this picture will twinkle as you move in the room and the chiffon pieces will flutter in the breeze!

I create whimsical, graphic, stylized, often Asian-inspired & sometimes jeweled or embellished interpretations of people, animals, ethnic subjects, objects/still lifes. I earned a degree in theater from the U. of Wisconsin, an additional degree, summa cum laude, in fashion design from FIDM/Los Angeles, and turned to creating art seriously in 2014 upon retiring from jobs in office administration and free time spent dancing, singing and acting.
