This is a portrait of a young man of the Sami people (sometimes referred to as "Lapps" or "Laplanders"), who are an indigenous people from the arctic areas of Norway, Sweden & Finland. One of my artistic goals is to present and preserve the various indigenous cultures and peoples around the world, many of whom are in danger of becoming "extinct."
