Artist's Description

This is a rendering of a cottage belonging to French queen Marie Antoinette (1755-1793). The phrase "Let them eat cake" is often attributed to Marie Antoinette, but there is no evidence she ever uttered it, and it is now generally regarded as a "journalistic cliche."
This piece is also available as prints in a number of other color combinations.
