Artist's Description
This is a stylized version of The Nitobe Memorial Garden, a traditional Japanese garden located at the University of British Columbia, just outside the city limits of Vancouver, Canada. One of the most authentic Japanese gardens in North America, it honors Japanese author, educator, diplomat, and politician Nitobe Inazo (1862--1933), who died in Victoria, British Columbia, and whose goal was "to become a bridge across the Pacific."
PLEASE NOTE: the black border on this piece is digital and will only appear on prints and merchandise, NOT on your purchase of the original from me. The original does have a narrow white border.
