Artist's Description
3rd PLACE WINNER, FAA CONTEST "FAMOUS SLOVAK AMERICANS--2022 CALENDAR EDITION"
It’s all about the eyes! This is Pola Negri (1897-1987), one of the first film stars during Hollywood’s “silent” and “golden” eras. Born and raised in Poland of Slavic ancestry, Pola was the first European to be awarded a Hollywood contract, and she was one of the highest paid stars of her era.
