Artist's Description
My version of Vermeer's classic painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring"--done as a belly dancer, by a belly dancer! Loaded with Swarovski crystals, beads and pearls and, of course, a real pearl earring (all securely sewn onto the canvas). Many tribal-style belly dancers wear dreads as part of their costume, sometimes made of yarn.
This painting recently won 1st place in the "Traditional with Modern Take" contest here on FAA.
