Description
“Shaka” means power; it is also the name of the early-19th century leader of the Zulu who brought many factions of the tribe together into one nation. The “Zulu” are the largest tribe in South Africa, so this figure represents the archetype of the powerful female figures of the continent of Africa—an African goddess or queen. The background stripes are in colors that pay homage to the vibrancy found in African flags, textiles, jewelry and clothing, creating a visual spectacle that immerses viewers in a world rich with grandeur and history. With its captivating depiction of a semi-abstract powerful female figure adorned in this artist's stunning gown and headwrap design, the artwork captures the essence of African culture and celebrates the influential female figures of the continent. This piece is the first in my series of “Cultural Goddesses and Queens,” all of which will be in this 10” x 30” elongated format.

Superb , Jayne !

Aziza, I wouldn't mind it a bit if you wanted to "favorite" any of my art (the little heart at the top on the right). Those "favorites" are instrumental in causing the algorithm to push the art farther to the top of the heap of what's presented to people when they search for something, just in case you weren't aware.
